LFB Ladies SS #1
I wanted to put up our worksheets for Sunday School, both for those that are entering late, those that need a refresher and those that are just curious. Join us in changing our hearts.
September 11, 2011
This book, if taken to heart, will push and pull on your humanity and your relationship with our Lord. During these times of sharing and reflection, all words need to be kept in this room and held tightly by these women.
I trust this is a safe place where we speak kindly, speak truth, and we are drawn into vulnerability. This will be a place of safety, guards can be let down, and masks can come off. We will do grace, and hugs and encouragement.
Chapter 1: An Emptier, Fuller Life, pgs. 9-15.
*Where is your heart this morning? Numb, searching, confused, overjoyed, excited, hopeful, etc.
*Pg. 12, … “and how do I fully live when life is full of hurt? How do I wake up to joy and grace and beauty and all that is the fullest life when I must stay numb to losses and crushed dreams and all that empties me out?”
In our lives, we have made choices and choices have been made for us, dreams have been broken, we have experienced grief, we know disappointment and yet we are here, our lips smiling but hearts....
…How tired are you from dwelling on the “troubles” of life and feeling empty, daily?
*Pg. 13, …“But these aren’t things you need to say anyways. Like all beliefs, you simply live them.”
How often do we focus on “Satan’s hissing lie” and ask for more? “Doubting God’s goodness,” we live out our ingratitude accepting the “human inheritance, the legacy of the garden.” In what ways are you living out your ingratitude and believing Satan’s lies, where are your “fists clinched”?
Assignment #1
This week’s assignment is to start engaging yourself in other people’s stories. There are 2 blogs that I would like us to start reading. These are women that have been through difficult times, and are willing to share their hearts. I believe these women are living fully, right where they are.
I want you to look for how they weave gratitude through their day, how they allow God’s grace to penetrate their hearts and how their pain has defined them, for the better.
