3 simple questions

I am going to ask 3 questions, sit on it for a minute, check your heart and answer yes or no.

1. The more vulnerable someone is with you, the more grace you feel like you can show.

2. The more vulnerable you are in relationships, the more "real" you can be. (whether your vulnerability/"junk" is accepted or not.)

3. Do you feel "lighter" when you share your burdens and allow others to help carry them?

If you answered Yes to these, are you good about practicing them? Do you allow room for others to practice them with you?

Kind of funny, but I think the more I know about someone, good or bad, the more grace and acceptance I feel I can show. When I share my heart, in view of the Gospel, whether it is accepted or not, I can be who I am. For those that can accept me where I am at, in all my junk, it is a burden that I no longer have to carry by myself and the deeper our relationship can be, which is what we all strive for.

  1. Absolutely agree....the more transparent a person is the more real they are AND the more I tend to love them.....BUT to be transparent takes a LEAP of faith, even when you know the person you are being transparent with...because it opens you up to be judged, looked down on, or scorned. I have been transparent in what I thought was a group I could trust and it is devastating when one or more scorn you. I have also had the most fulfilling relationships with my sisters in Christ when I can share my burdens with them.
