Valentine

Kendal is my Valentine and has been for 14 and a half years now. Wow, I can hardly believe it has been that long ago that we met and chose love.

My husband is a man of integrity and and is honest. He is strong both physically and emotionally. He chooses to be vulnerable at times because it helps the both of us, even though, it is difficult.

He loves his four little boys, madly. Just last night, as I read the final chapter in 'Winnie-the-Pooh', out of the corner of my eye, I could see him stroking my second boys' hair and playing with his ear as they both laid in the twin bed listening to the story, eyes half closed. He is an example of who Christ is. My children have a strong idea of who their Heavenly Father is because of the example of their earthly father.

He provides for our family. Not only by way of financial with a home and food, but also he provides safety and the peace of mind for me and my kids that he will always be here. He is ahead of his years with his knowledge and wisdom. He is thoughtful and I can see him thinking behind those brown eyes that are at time mysterious because he is always pondering.

His trust in the Lord is to be admired. He is quick to go to prayer over hardships or need. He bows regularly with me, pleading on my and his behalf, for my healing. He doesn't hesitate when I ask for prayer, either for healing, strength, peace, or just about my day.

He loves me when I am strong and when I am weak. He stands firm on the vows we took 12 and a half years ago. His example of ' in sickness and in health' is one to be admired. He puts up with my emotions and ongoings about the day in the life of Lindsay and doesn't complain. He is patient and kind. He laughs with and at me. He brings flowers, he does the dishes and changes diapers, many diapers. He allows for me to dream big and supports my endeavors. He encourages me to try new things and says it's okay when I 'chicken out.' He says I am beautiful, always.

He is a jack of all trades and I can always count on him being able to fix, build or put together whatever is laid in front of him. So much so, that I am almost shocked when he asks for help. He can problem solve and trouble shoot with the best of them.

Speaking of problem solving. He is just gifted with helping with relationships. Sure we screw up, lots, but being able to help others walk through sticky situations is something he is gifted at.

He can be silly and outgoing, but is most comfortable being quiet. He doesn't look to be the Top Dog and rather enjoys to do things a bit more subtly. He is not pushy or demanding. He allows room for mistakes and shows grace, lots of grace.

I am incredibly blessed by having this Man as my husband. Sometimes I tell him, that 'I feel sorry for all those other women who can't have him.' And since very early in our relationship I have said to him, with all sincerity, "You are my Dream Come True." To this day, I still mean it with all my heart. I am so thankful for this man, my husband, my Valentine Kendal. I love you!
