Feeding Your Soul

It's those random coffee's you buy for yourself or the necklace that caught your eye that you decided to purchase. It is the pasture of clover with it's white flowers set against a grey sky that you slow down to gaze at. It's the things you do in your spare time because it makes you calm and reflective. It's that favorite Christmas song you listen to in May because it gives you the fuzzies. It's making roast chicken because you like to know you can do it yourself instead of buying it at the store. It's looking at your child's baby photos and remembering what it was like as they laid their small, warm heads under your chin. It's saving your pennies to buy that kelley green dress with the ruffles. It's playing "Just Dance 2" because you think you are darn good at it. It's singing at the top of your lungs, as silly as it looks, in your car because it is your favorite song. It's dancing at weddings even if you look like a doofus. It's wearing silver rubber boots. It's getting your bedroom cleaned up just the way you like it. It's getting a supermarket bouquet of flowers even though it isn't in the budget. It's putting your favorite tablecloth on the dinner table. It's smelling the clean laundry. It's saying a swear word because no other word will do. It's awkwardly hugging someone just because you are drawn to them. It's reading "People" magazine. It's helping someone in need. It's so cupcakes!...It's making difficult decisions and not taking on the guilt so you can feed your soul. I am choosing to get a babysitter a couple times a week, so I can feed my soul by making jewelry.

Feeding your soul is doing things for yourself that are healthy, don't harm others, and help you to breathe easier and just make you happy.
